With the advancement of desktop computers in the 1990s, there was a concern at Hallmark that people would start making their own Christmas cards. I know the time and money it takes to make a good sendable greeting card, so I wasn't too worried. But I figured it wouldn't hurt to see what it would take to make a personalized card on my own.
Making the cards was a bit more expensive than buying boxed cards, but the positive response from everyone on our mailing list was surprising. They couldn't wait to see what I was going to do next year. I've been stuck making a homemade greeting ever since.
It all started when Kelsey was 3 and Lauren was 12. I had them looking into a store display. The latest featured our Hawaii trip. The girls are always willing to play along and pose for our annual holiday photo shoot.
